who are the bush bitches?
We’re a group of like-minded friends who share a passion for trail running. Our pack fosters a spirit of inclusion and camaraderie, welcoming runners of all abilities to join in the fun.
We are not about competition or racing. Instead, we focus on supporting each other, enjoying the beauty of nature, and creating lasting memories. During our runs, we stop to encourage one another, take photos of beautiful vistas, and simply appreciate the journey. While our group is mainly composed of women, we also have a few men. What truly matters to us is a positive attitude—no trash talk or complaints about the group’s pace.

Our guiding principle is to run at the pace of the pack, ensuring that no one is left behind. Although we are a very informal group, we have joked before about having a few simple rules:
Support and uplift your fellow runners.
Take time to appreciate the beauty around you.
Maintain a positive and friendly atmosphere.
Run at the pace of the pack.
If anyone is injured, we all walk out together.
You have to have a sense of humour.
No macho dude, testosterone, toxic masculinity shit.
If Lisa doesn’t like you, you get the boot.*
The BB Backyard Ultra embodies our values, offering a unique and inclusive running experience that highlights the importance of community and camaraderie. We look forward to welcoming you to our event and sharing the trails with you.
